The Question of Sewer Line Replacement.

Sooner or later, most Peoria area homes, especially those built in the 1970s or earlier, will require sewer line repair or replacement and the responsibility to pay for it most often falls on the homeowner.  Sewer pipes, in older homes are usually made of clay tiles that can crack or break apart, allowing tree roots to infiltrate and create clogs.

For homeowners wanting an option beyond the backhoe, the trenchless technology of pipe lining or pipe bursting may be the way to go.  It's a technology that's on the rise and will continue to grow with time.  A pipe liner is installed via a process in which a resin-coated, flexible tube is blown or pulled into the interior of the damaged pipe and inflated.

What is right for your Morton area home?  The answer may not be simple, but we would like to help.  We are Dave Bailey Plumbing located in Morton and serving East Peoria, Pekin and the surrounding area.  For all your plumbing problems including sewer line repair or replacement, count on Dave and his crew.  Just call (309) 265-6788.

Speaking of Sewage Pumps.

There is a topic that few people wish to discuss.  A sewage pump is used to transfer sewage liquids and solids from one place to another…see what we mean?  Usually, sewage includes soft solids up to 2″ in diameter which is pumped from a sewage basin to a sewer system or a septic tank.  A sewage pump is installed at the lowest point of the sewage basin.

Here is a description of a sewage pump.  It is a centrifugal pump, with a special design enabling solids to pass without clogging the pump.  When the pump is turned on, the motor starts to rotate the impeller, creating the pressure that pushes water into the impeller itself and then goes into the discharge pipe.

It’s complicated, necessary, and messy.  It is also one of the things that Dave Bailey and his team specialize in…the repair and replacement of sewage pumps.  For any and all plumbing matters in the Peoria area always think of Dave first.  That’s Dave Bailey Plumbing of Morton.  The number to call is (309) 265-6788.
