The Question of Sewer Line Replacement.

Sooner or later, most Peoria area homes, especially those built in the 1970s or earlier, will require sewer line repair or replacement and the responsibility to pay for it most often falls on the homeowner.  Sewer pipes, in older homes are usually made of clay tiles that can crack or break apart, allowing tree roots to infiltrate and create clogs.

For homeowners wanting an option beyond the backhoe, the trenchless technology of pipe lining or pipe bursting may be the way to go.  It's a technology that's on the rise and will continue to grow with time.  A pipe liner is installed via a process in which a resin-coated, flexible tube is blown or pulled into the interior of the damaged pipe and inflated.

What is right for your Morton area home?  The answer may not be simple, but we would like to help.  We are Dave Bailey Plumbing located in Morton and serving East Peoria, Pekin and the surrounding area.  For all your plumbing problems including sewer line repair or replacement, count on Dave and his crew.  Just call (309) 265-6788.

A Video Inspection of Your Sewer.

There is something you wouldn’t want to show off to friends and relatives, but it may be vital to preserving the safety of your Morton area home or office.  A sewer camera is a valuable tool to help determine if there’s a problem with your home’s sewer system.  It’s important to know what a sewer camera inspection can find and what it can’t.

What exactly is a sewer camera inspection anyway?  There are limitations to what a sewer camera sees inside your sewer lines.  For example, it cannot determine if you have a leak or to locate a leak or leaks in your sewer lines.  What it CAN do is locate and troubleshoot drainage or stoppage issues which is an invaluable tool.

To find someone in Morton, East Peoria, Pekin and the surrounding area in Central Illinois who  knows how to conduct a sewer camera inspection, call Dave Bailey.  Dave is the owner of Dave Bailey Plumbing.  At the first sign of a potential sewage backup in your home or office call Dave Bailey Plumbing at (309) 265-6788.

I’m Sure Glad that the Sewer Backed Up Now.

Say what?  Nobody should be glad about that event on their property, but when it happens in the summer it is easier to troubleshoot than in the winter when the ground is frozen.  Of course, there is no good time to find yourself in the unfortunate situation of having a sewer line clog in your home, but there are times when clogs are more likely to develop.

What causes sewer line problems in the Summer?

1.  Increased usage…everyone has been home during summer vacation.
2.  A sudden severe storm…we know all about that in Central Illinois.
3.  Invasive tree roots…trees are growing at a faster rate in the summer.

Summertime may be when the living is easy as the saying goes, but it is also a more likely time to suffer sewer problems on your property.  At the first sign, call Dave Bailey of Dave Bailey Plumbing.  He and his crew serve the plumbing and sewer back-up problems of residents in Morton, East Peoria, and Pekin.  Call Dave at (309) 265-6788.

What’s That Smell!

Believe me, there is no mistaking it when a sewer starts to back up.  Your nose knows.  One of the visual signs of a sewer that is backing up is less and less water in your toilet.  Sewer lines by their very design will carry waste water away from your property to keep your home sanitary keeping wastes away from clean water.

Plumbing systems are made up of two primary parts…the water supply and the waste disposal. Most of the serious back-ups occur at the main sewer line.  You may even get a clue from “listening” to your toilet.  Is it making a “gurgling” sound?  Once the sewer line is cleared from the blockage and a camera inspection is done, the plumber might make some recommendations.

That is why Central Illinois residents have counted on Dave Bailey Plumbing for many years at the first sign of a sewer back-up on their property.  Dave and his crew have the tools and the knowledge to get things flowing properly again.  If you have sewer problems in Morton, IL. and the surrounding area call Dave Bailey Plumbing at (309) 265-6788.
